Cancellation
If you made a reservation directly with Fox Rent a Car at www.foxrentacar.com or our call center, please use the same source to cancel your reservation. Fox does not charge a cancellation fee but does request such cancellation notice as soon as travel plans have changed. If you made a reservation through another provider (Expedia, Priceline, etc.) please use the same source to cancel your reservation. Some providers may charge for the cancellation of a reservation if not canceled within a specific time frame. In order to alleviate such charges (cancellation fee or penalty) check with the provider and cancel the reservation directly with the provider.
CURRENCY CONVERSION

The estimated total is displayed in U.S. Dollars. The actual rate you pay will be calculated by converting the U.S. Dollar (USD) amount into the local currency using a published exchange rate established by the local rental company. When converted, the amount will best represent the original quote. However, due to currency fluctuation variances may be unavoidable. Your credit or debit card company may convert the amount back into USD at a lower rate, and may apply additional conversion fees and surcharges. Because conversion rates may differ, the final total USD charge to your credit or debit card may be higher than the USD total rate estimated on this website.
Valid Drivers License and major credit card must be presented upon arrival at rental counter. Name on credit card and Drivers License must match.

International renters must also present a passport and a valid driver's license from their country of residence. If the license is of non-Latin alphabet an international driving license will be required.
MULTIPLE or DUPLICATE RESERVATIONS - If you require multiple vehicles for the same or overlapping time periods, please make sure to use a different name for each reservation otherwise the duplicate name reservation will automatically be canceled. FOX will not be responsible for any canceled reservations.

Diesel Option & Full to Full Tank. In the case a customer would prefer a diesel vehicle, they can request it at time of booking with an extra charge or on spot however we can not guarantee the availability. Full Fuel SDC/CRS: The Classic Return System, (SDC in Spanish and associated with a higher rate): This option includes a full tank of fuel and must be paid on collection of the vehicle. The price of fuel is determined based on the price of the petrol stations. We will block the fuel tank + the possible refueling penalty service fee of 50 USD for not returning the vehicle full. DEBIT CARDS. The tank is charged on collection). We will unblock the full amount if the vehicle is returned full. If the vehicle is not returned with a full tank, the unblock of the amount paid will have a deduction equal to the value of the missing liters of fuel (according to the current petrol station prices) plus a penalization of 50 USD.
Driving restrictions - driving of rental vehicle is restricted to Ecuador. A penalty fee applies for violations of this restriction, USD 250.00
After the confirmed pick up date and time reservations will be honored for a period of 2 hours. IN CASE OF DELAYED ARRIVALS you must contact the location directly to inform of the delay and prior to the scheduled arrival time in order for the car to be held. Fox Call Center is unable to assist in these matters. See SHUTTLE policy for location contact number. Every effort will be made to accommodate based on fleet availability. Location will confirm at time of contact.
LDW. Collision and Vehicle Damage and Theft Coverage with deductible - Not included in the Rate. For more information, refer to the Optional Coverages section. The deductible ranges from USD 2,000 to USD 3,000, depending on the vehicle group. Not covered under the policy: Tires, side and rear-view mirrors, windows, Taxi (transportation), towing expenses, locks, battery, engine, chassis, and Car Interior, clutch, spare keys, key copy, and key drop-off at the nearest Europcar office, damages to oil sump, catalytic converter, radiator, a new tank if a replacement vehicle is needed, and Repair period.

Car Coverage and Extended Liability Coverage (SLI) are NOT included in the rate.

Rental rates include Mandatory Car Coverage and Supplementary Third Party Liability Coverage for damages resulting from the use and operation of the vehicle (TPL).

TPL. Third Party Liability. Included in the rate, the Liability Insurance adds to the rental price. Liability Insurance covers property damages caused by our clients to third parties while driving our vehicles up to a maximum of USD 5000. In case of bodily injuries caused to third parties by our clients while driving our vehicles, the insurance coverage is USD 3000.

DECLINE PROTECTION:

In case of declining protection, the customer is responsible for the entire vehicle and must provide a deposit and will be liable for the deductible/excess of the total vehicle value.

OPTIONAL COVERAGES

Relax Coverage - SRELA

By purchasing this coverage, the deposit will be reduced by USD 2,000 to USD 3,000. The customer is responsible for any damage to the vehicle's bodywork (up to the deductible/excess amount). The deposit and corresponding liability (deductible/excess) are independent of tire, glass, windshield, and/or roof damages. To cover these items, selecting the WWI protection is recommended WWI.

Super Relax Coverage - SSREL

By purchasing this coverage, the deductible/excess is reduced to USD 1000 in each car group, and the following are covered: Bodywork damages, tires, hubcaps, locks, glass, windshield (up to the deductible/excess value). It includes Personal Accident Protection and Extended Coverage for Third Parties (PAI). Side and rear-view mirrors, chassis, roof, engine, post-accident towing service, taxi (transportation), clutch, battery, locks, key copy, and key drop-off at the nearest Europcar branch, damages to oil sump, catalytic converter, radiator, and exempt from new deposit for replacement vehicle in case of accident or breakdown and repair period (LU).

Basic roadside assistance will be included at a cost per assistance.

Mega Relax Coverage - MRECO

This coverage can only be sold as an upgrade/additional sale from Super Relax; it cannot be sold separately from Super Relax. Mega Relax Coverages: Fueling errors (with a maximum of USD 500*). This is not covered by our Super Relax coverage, only our Mega Relax coverage. Running out of fuel (we send assistance to pick up the car). This is not covered by our Super Relax coverage, only our Mega Relax coverage. Rescue: Roads, Beaches, and Non-Fit Forest Areas (with a maximum of USD 500*). This is not covered by our Super Relax coverage, only our Mega Relax coverage. Incorrect installation of Europcar accessories. This is not covered by our Super Relax coverage, only our Mega Relax coverage. Roadside assistance in case of side/rear glass breakage (we send roadside assistance). With Super Relax, we cover glass damages but do not provide roadside assistance. Roadside assistance is provided by Mega Relax. Roadside assistance in case of lost/damaged keys. With Super Relax, we cover the key value but not all involved assistance. Mega Relax covers the necessary assistance for key replacement like key replacement, taxi to the nearest location, key sending... etc. Flat tire: Roadside assistance (we send roadside assistance). With Super Relax, we cover tire damages but do not provide roadside assistance. Roadside assistance is provided by Mega Relax.

NOT INCLUDED IN ANY COVERAGE. Traffic fines, sanctions, and judicial costs related to traffic or legal violations and tolls. All costs derived from incorrect use and/or lack of fuel. Europcar is not responsible for stolen, forgotten, or lost items inside the vehicle. It is recommended to have these items covered through personal travel insurance. Loss of vehicle documents (Penalty: USD 500). If the customer overloads the car beyond its capacity or drives on "secondary level roads" (unpaved roads). Removing vehicle seats is not allowed. If the driver is found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and/or using their cell phone at the time of the accident.

One-way rentals are available between FOX locations in the Country of Ecuador. When available one-way fee will be reflected in the total price. International one-ways are NOT allowed.
PAYMENT METHODS AND ADDITIONAL CHARGES

The additional deposit required is based on the type of protection and vehicle selected.

When declining a protection, a HOLD equivalent to the total vehicle value, with an AUTHORIZATION between USD 15,000 and USD 42,000 (amount depends on the rented car class)is required at the time of rental.

This authorization amount can be used for vehicle damages or late payment charges.

If you have purchased or rely on third-party collision damage waiver, any vehicle damage will be charged to your credit card, and the renter must claim a deductible/excess refund from the third-party policy.

Unused funds will be refunded through the credit card processor 15 days after the vehicle returns.

NO REFUNDS ARE MADE FOR EARLY VEHICLE RETURNS OR CONTRACT CANCELLATIONS
br>PAYMENT AT PICKUP

Accepted payment methods for charges at the time of pickup (rental charges) are: Visa/Visa Debit, Master Card/Master Card Debit, Diners Club, Discover, and Cash.

A cash payment requires a credit card accepted as a deposit.

The following payment methods are accepted for security deposit (Additional Authorization) Visa,Master Card, Discover, and Diners.

NOTE: Cash or debit cards are not accepted as deposits.
LENGTH OF RENTAL. The car hire contract may have a maximum of 28 days.

Booking Extension Period. The collaborator must send any vehicle hire extension to Europcar to the corresponding location/airport by email: extensions@Europcar.com (the location has to confirm or deny the extension) and always send copy the main office on: ecuador@Europcarfranchisee.com The minimum period of time required to send the extensions is 24 hours prior to the end of the current contract.

The customer must also travel in person to the closest Europcar location in order to make the necessary adjustments to the rental contract. Rental periods cannot be extended by telephone. If for any reason the rental period cannot be extended, then the customer is obligated to return the rental Vehicle at the location, time and date agreed upon on the rental contract.

IMPORTANT. For all extensions of contracts we will apply the late fee rate per day plus the daily rental rate and not according to the original booking date. The extension cannot be sent as a new booking. It will always be an extension of an existing contract.

The car hire contract may have a maximum duration of 28 days. After 28 days, a new contract is required. When a customer needs a vehicle for a rental longer than 28 days, we will have the following option: MAKE A NEW CONTRACT. A new booking has to be made applying the rate at the time the booking is confirmed and according to the pick-up date of the new booking (it is NOT possible to use the rate applied to the previous booking/contract); A new vehicle will be provided (the previous vehicle is returned); The local extras have to be paid again in the new contract (Additional drivers, Additional covers, Gas etc.); The fuel tank of the new contract/vehicle has to be paid;

In the event the vehicle is returned later than the agreed rental drop-off time stated in the contract, the cover will no longer be valid and the customer will be responsible for paying a USD 50 (categories AA/BB/CC/D), USD 100 (categories G/R/R2/E/L/L1/U1) & USD 150 (categories JJ/I/K/K1) per day late fee. In addition to the corresponding late fees, the customer must also pay the daily rental rate. Customers who abandon Europcar vehicles at any location other than the location agreed upon on the rental agreement will be responsible for the costs assumed by Europcar Rental for the transport of the vehicle to the agreed upon drop-off location, as well as the corresponding daily rental charges and USD 180 daily penalization fee.

GRACE / COURTESY PERIOD. There is a one hour grace period for the return of all rental vehicles. In the event the vehicle is returned later than 59 minute past the agreed rental drop-off time stated in the contract, the cover will no longer be valid and the customer will be responsible for paying a USD 50 (categories AA/BB/CC/D), USD 100 (categories G/R/R2/E/L/L1/U1) & USD 150 (categories JJ/I/K/K1) per day late fee. In addition to the corresponding late fees, the customer must also pay the daily rental rate.

EARLY RETURN. If a customer returns the vehicle earlier than the agreed upon drop-off date stated in the rental contract, Europcar will not refund the customer for any unused days.

LOST VEHICLE DOCUMENTS. If a customer returns a vehicle and the vehicle documents are not in the car (after checking the car), we will proceed to charge this fee. The cost of this fee will be as follows: 250 USD per vehicle.

FINES. In case of breach of the duty, to respect all the laws and regulation governing the circulation of the vehicles, as proved by service/communication to us of the report for an administrative sanction from the competent Authorities (such as Police, Entities governing the expressway; port authorities, etc.) the customer shall pay us, a penalty (Fine Administration Charge of 40 USD), in addition to the fine or toll to which it relates. The customer is fully liable to pay such fines or tolls. In these cases, when possible, the Hirer will request that the relevant Authority serve the report directly to the customer, otherwise, the Hirer will pay the relevant fines and then we will charge the customer with those fines together with the applicable penalty. All speeding tickets and fines will be charged in full, without any discount.

SUBSTITUTION VEHICLE. In the cases of an accident or Vehicle breakdown, a new deposit will be necessary for the collection of a substitution vehicle. A reduced deposit will be necessary when the optional Relax, Super Relax, and Mega Relax Cover Packages are contracted.

ABANDONED VEHICLE. Customers who abandon Europcar vehicles at any location other than the location agreed upon on the rental agreement will be responsible for the costs assumed by Europcar Rental for the transport of the vehicle to the agreed upon drop-off location, as well as the corresponding 180 USD per rental penalization fee.

ACCIDENT ADMINISTRATION FEE. We charge a 100 USD administration fee to the clients when they are involved in an accident (File proceedings) and have NOT taken our Super Relax Cover.

UNDELIVERED ACCIDENT REPORT. If a customer is involved in a car accident and the local Police Accident Report is not provided by the customer to Europcar, no protection packages will apply and client will be fully lible for all damages and vehicle recovery costs. Please, keep in mind that the additional covers Relax, Super Relax or Mega Relax do not waive this fee. This fee is always applied if the Accident Report is not provided regardless of the additional covers taken.

SPECIAL CLEANING SERVICE. A charge of 150 USD will be applied if the returned car requires special cleaning.

NEGLIGENCE. The use not permitted includes and is not limited to the following cases mentioned by way of example: Pushing or towing another vehicle. Driving in areas not suited to public transport, such as beaches, race tracks, forestry roads, back roads, etc. Driving on dirt roads and very poorly paved roads that could cause damage to the underside of the vehicle. Driving the vehicle in restricted areas, and more specifically on airport roads and other roads for aeronautical and/or military use. Negligent behavior when the vehicles indicators show an alert that customers state are known to them when they sign the agreement. Transport of goods or animals and, in particular, substances that are hazardous, inflammable and/or poisonous for the vehicle and its occupants. The transport of individuals or goods for which the customers receive direct or indirect payment. Sub-leasing the vehicle. Using the vehicle for unlawful activities. Transporting a number of passengers and amount of luggage not authorized for the vehicle concerned. Manipulation of the odometer. Customers must report any malfunction of the odometer to Europcar immediately. Transport of luggage or any other item on the vehicles roof, even when an adequate luggage rack is used for the purpose. Damage to the vehicle caused by leaving tempting items in plain sight inside the vehicle. Dirtying the inside of the vehicle beyond what would be expected from reasonable and careful use. Driving the vehicle when tired, not feeling well and under the influence of alcohol, medicine or drugs. Reckless driving. Using the vehicle to give driving lessons under any circumstance and/or to teach special driving techniques. Driving against the traffic regulations. The vehicle is driven by a person who is not authorized to do so in the agreement, as either a customer and/or a supplementary driver. Continued use of the vehicle after the rental period has ended.

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE/ S.O.S DEPARTMENT. S.O.S / Roadside Assistance must be notified within 48 hours on: Tel.: 1800-RENTACAR (73682227) if: Theft: All thefts must be reported to the police and an original copy of the report must be obtained by the customer. Accident: In case of accident or collision, the client must correctly fill out the provided form, which can be found in the glove-box of the rental vehicle). Telephone assistance is free for every customer on weekdays between 09:00 and 18:30. There will be a service charge that will not exceed USD 30 for contacting Roadside Assistance/S.O.S outside of these hours, unless the customer has selected the optional Super Relax Cover. (Please see the Optional Cover section for more information.)
The Fox vehicle provider for this location is Europcar. After collecting luggage, proceed outside of the International and National Arrivals doors, and immediately turn left. Inside the airport hallway, turn left and in approximately 50-100 mts, depending on the gate exited proceed to the end of the hallway where you will find the Europcar counter, right next to the Airports Information Desk. If you are unable to locate the Europcar representative please (4) 216 9088 to announce your arrival. When using an international cellular service include country code 593.
Prepaid Toll-Pass Service is offered for pruchase at our counters for USD 4.99/Day. If Prepaid Toll-Pass is not selected and driver does not provide every toll payments recipts at the counter when returning the vehicle, a fine of $5.99/pass will be charged.This fine also applies for Automated Electronic Tolls, where no Tool Booths are on the road. Ecuador's primary highway is a toll road. The cost of tolls varies between USD 0.30 and USD 1.00 per pass. Payment booths will be set up along some highways and you will pay as you travel. Tolls are paid in cash. Currency USD.

Note: A penalty fee of USD 100 applies when bypassing toll both and using the express lane. The penalty is per occurrence.
