Warm Weather Destinations for Winter Travel

So fall is here and it hit with a vengeance, with cold temps throughout the country and even snow already in Colorado and the northern United States. While a blanket of white can be a pretty destination for the holidays, it can get old when it starts too early. This makes the idea of a trip to a warm-weather destination appealing, and we’ve got some great ideas of places you can lay on the sand or under the sun for less!

Hawaii
You knew this one was coming, right? Hawaii’s climes are temperate year-round, with the worst being maybe some more wind and rain than usual. Worth it!

San Diego, California
This city has the auspicious reputation as being one of the most consistent temperatures in the mainland, with beaches that will stun you even on a cold-ish day here in SoCal.

Los Angeles, California
Rent a car at the airport in San Diego (you can find all our locations here) and make the drive up to LA when you’re ready for a different view. LAX is easy to get in and out of, even with new ride share restrictions, and you’ll get a good trip up the coast as a bonus.

The Caribbean
There are too many islands to name, so it all depends on whether you want to wing it or lay in the lap of luxury at an all-inclusive resort. There are even adults-only options, where you can lay poolside all day without getting splashed and then party all night long. The most difficult choice will be which one of the many places to visit and then you’ll be asking when you can return again.

Mexico
Just like the islands, there are too many locations in Mexico to name, but Puerto Vallarta and Cancun quickly come to mind. Wouldn’t it be awesome to spend the holidays in Mexico? It would be a Christmas to remember.

Puerto Rico
Easily accessible and affordable, Puerto Rico has so much to offer and is often forgotten when it comes to spontaneous travel destinations.

Spain
The Canary Islands are still in the 70s even in December, and whether you want to spend your vacation in a luxury hotel or outside enjoying the countryside, you’ll have a lot of options even in the off-season.

Australia
The most obvious reason is that their seasons are the reverse of those in the United States, and they are experiencing summer weather while we are in the throes of winter. Outdoor activities and beautiful beaches will greet you on your escape.
