If you made a reservation directly with Fox Rent a Car at www.foxrentacar.com or our call center, please use the same source to cancel your reservation. Fox does not charge a cancellation fee but does request such cancellation notice as soon as travel plans have changed.
If you made a reservation through another provider (Expedia, Priceline etc.) please use the same source to cancel your reservation. Some providers may charge for the cancellation of a reservation if not canceled within a specific time frame. In order to alleviate such charges (cancellation fee or penalty) check with the provider and cancel the reservation directly with the provider.

CURRENCY CONVERSION - The estimated total is displayed in U.S. Dollars. The actual rate you pay will be calculated by converting the U.S. Dollar (USD) amount into the local currency using a published exchange rate established by the local rental company. When converted, the amount will best represent the original quote.  However, due to currency fluctuation variances may be unavoidable. Your credit or debit card company may convert the amount back into USD at a lower rate, and may apply additional conversion fees and surcharges. Because conversion rates may differ, the final total USD charge to your credit or debit card may be higher than the USD total rate estimated on this website.

A valid drivers license, major credit card, and a third piece of government-issued identification are required to initiate the contract for airline-arriving passengers who reside outside of Ontario and Quebec. ONTARIO and QUEBEC license holders please see keyword LOCAL RENTER for qualifying requirements. International renters must also present a passport and a valid drivers license from their country of residence. If the license is of non-Latin alphabet an international driving license will be required. NOTE - A charge of CAD/14.95 per day applies to drivers with a Probationary License.

MULTIPLE or DUPLICATE RESERVATIONS - If you require multiple vehicles for the same or overlapping time periods please make sure to use a different name for each reservation otherwise the duplicate name reservation will automatically be canceled. FOX will not be responsible for any canceled reservations.

Vehicles must be returned with the same amount of fuel as at the start of rental to avoid refueling charges.

Driving restrictions – driving of rental vehicle is restricted to Providence of Ontario, Canada
A CAD 50.00/day penalty fee applies for violations of this restriction.
For travel outside the Providence of Ontario written permission is required at time of rental.
For travel to USA a cross border fee of CAD 12.95 / day applies for each day of the contract.

you must contact the location directly to inform of the delay and prior to the scheduled arrival time in order for the car to be held. Every effort will be made to accommodate based on fleet availability. Location will confirm at time of contact.

In Canada the law requires full comprehensive coverage, i.e.Liability (PAC) and Collision Insurance, on all vehicles. Purchase of these products is optional if written proof of coverage is presented at time of rental. THE RENTER MUST PROVIDE PROOF IN THE FORM OF AN INSURANCE DECLARATION PAGE, SPECIFICALLY STATING COMPREHENSIVE AND COLLISION COVERAGE IS EFFECTIVE AND ENFORCED FOR THE DURATION OF THE RENTAL AGREEMENT (this also applies to the coverage that may be provided through credit card companies and third party companies that will be used at the time of rental). An insurance declaration page is the document that defines your coverage and limits. Insurance cards WILL NOT satisfy the requirement to provide an insurance declaration page for self-insurance.

If renter chooses to self-insure and use /transfer their personal auto insurance for the rental car an Insurance transfer fee ITF of CAD 4.99 /day will be charged .

If relying solely on credit card or third party collision coverage, a comprehensive coverage surcharge of CAD 11.95/day will be applied to all credit card or insurance purchased online in order to meet the required comprehensive coverage. If you have purchased or are relying on a third party collision protection any damage to the vehicle will be estimated and charged to your credit card at return. Once repairs are completed final payment will be settled with renter and third party insurance.

PAC – Property Accident Insurance. Property Accident Insurance (PAC) protects against claims for injury/damage you cause to third persons/their property. It does not cover injury to you or damage to the rented vehicle. Cost per day CAD 11.95/day.

CDW – Collision Damage Waiver. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) reduces your financial liability for damage to the vehicle its parts and accessories except for theft attempted theft or vandalism provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. CDW insurance deductible CAD 2,000 plus taxes. Cost per day CAD 29.95/day. When purchasing collision damage waiver any damage to the vehicle up to the insurance deductible amount will be charged to your credit card at return.

TP – Theft Protection. Theft Protection Coverage (TP) reduces your financial liability for loss of or damage to the rental vehicle due to theft attempted theft or vandalism including its parts and accessories provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. Theft Protection Coverage reduces your liability against theft to CAD 2,000 plus taxes. Cost per day CAD 29.95/day.

Unlimited kilometers apply to airline-arriving customers only. Unlimited kilometers do not apply for local rentals. Ontario residents receive 200 free km per day, 1,400 km per week, 3,000 km (maximum) on any rental exceeding 3 weeks, and .30 cents for each additional Kilometer driven during the entire rental, plus applicable taxes. Border Crossing: Vehicles entering the USA are subject to a border crossing fee of 12.95 CAD per day kilometers are limited to 200 KM per day, 1.400 KM per week, 3,000 per month (maximum) for rentals exceeding 3 weeks, and .30 cents CAD for each additional KM driven during your entire rental. Vehicles cannot be used as ride-sharing, Uber, Lyft, or any other commercial transportation use.

Accepted and valid government IDs include; a passport, military, federal, provincial, or territorial government IDs for ONTARIO and QUEBEC license holders. Photocopies will not be accepted. The name on the credit card and drivers license must match. ONTARIO and QUEBEC license holders will also need to present their own auto insurance policy with FAQ27 Indorsement at time of rental. Insurance purchased online WILL NOT be accepted.

Unlimited kms do not apply for local rentals. Ontario residents receive 200kms D 1400 kms W Rental period exceeding 2 weeks or beyond will have only 1000 kms free per week with Max of 3000 km for 4 week rental. Per excess KM charge .30 cents CAD for each additional KM, plus applicable taxes.

DEPOSITS
A credit card AUTHORIZATION equal to the estimated amount of the rental plus an additional AUTHORIZATION CAD 1000.00 is required at time of rental. This additional authorization/cash amount may be used toward late charges. Unused funds will be returned through the credit card processor after vehicle return. NO REFUNDS ARE MADE FOR EARLY VEHICLE RETURNS OR CONTRACT CANCELLATIONS.

The following methods of payment are accepted for deposit. American Express Visa, Master Card, Diners Club, and Discover. Note – DEBIT AND CASH DEPOSITS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.

Any changes to the reservation or rental may result in a change of rate or additional fees.

Rates that are impacted by a website technical issue, database issue or other means will not be honored by the location if the rate display was inaccurate due to a technical issue or tampering issue to change the rate display.

Upon arrival and after collecting luggage please BOARD THE LINK TRAIN TO VISCOUNT STATION. Then proceed down the stairs where you will find a courtesy phone to call for pickup. Location is within 1 KM radius of the airport.

Directions:
Terminal 1 Train platform is located on Level 5 of the Terminal 1 Parking Garage. To get to the train platform from the terminal, take the West Pedestrian Bridge to the parking garage. From there you board the train to viscount station. Where you will be picked up by the NU Hotel/Fox shuttle bus.

Terminal 3 Train platform is located at the Sheraton hotel pedestrian bridge. To access the train platform from the terminal, go to Level 3 of Terminal 3 and follow the signs up the escalator/elevator to the Sheraton hotel. . From there you board the train to viscount station. Where you will be picked up by the NU Hotel/Fox shuttle bus.

For your convenience vehicles are equipped and can be activated to use the 407-ETR transponder to access toll roads. Cost – CAD 11.95 /per day, maximum CAD 50.00, plus trip toll fees. Service provides unlimited use and saves the per trip Camera Recorded Trip Charge. If you use the toll highways in Canada and do not activate the 407-ETR Transponder at time of rental we will be advised 30-45 days from use. Tolls will be billed to the credit card on file with an administration fee of CAD 50.00.
